Beloved, if you are born again--born of the Spirit, if you have received the life of Christ Jesus, then you are forgiven. You don't get forgiven; you are forgiven!

God dealt with the sin issue on the cross. Sins were judged. We were found guilty, and the punishment for sin--death--was executed. Jesus died on behalf of us all.

The forgiveness is in Christ Jesus. If you have Him, you are forgiven. If you don't have Jesus, if you don't believe in Him, you will die in your sins (John 8:24). Until we understand this truth to the fullest, we cannot concentrate on the life of Christ.

We must know who we are in Jesus, and what we have already received in Him. We are a new creation, and our identity is in Jesus. We are children of God; we are saints. God loves us unconditionally, for we are His treasured ones (Psalm 83:3). He accepted us in His beloved; He has forgiven us. In Jesus we are complete. Brothers and sisters, see yourselves through God's eyes. From now on thank God for His forgiveness instead of asking for it.

We appeal to all faithful Christians to ask God for His truth. Read God's Word and He will reveal all this to you. Asking God for forgiveness for something  He has already done, is definitely not walking by faith! God said that in Christ Jesus we are forgiven, and by faith we must believe it and act upon it. Grasping this fundamental truth will change not only your relationship with God; all your relationships will improve.

There are many religions in the world, and they have one common denominator--man reaching out to God in an effort to please Him. But religion can never satisfy God. It can neither remove sin nor is it able to change our sinful nature.

Many claim to be spiritual. They recognize the supernatural, but the word "spiritual" can mean almost anything. The last time we heard someone claiming to be "very spiritual" it turned out to be a person casting spells and poking needles in dolls. There are many different spirits and many different religions. There is nothing we are not capable of worshiping: all the heavenly hosts (sun, moon, stars . . .) or anything on Earth (Earth itself, fire, water, stones, animals, self or other people, images--anything created by human hands. We sure let our imagination run wild in creating our own gods. Many try to worship the true God, but not in accordance with knowledge.

If a religious person is functioning on his own--without the leading of the Holy Spirit,  he or she is only producing artificial fruit. That is all that people devoid of the Holy Spirit can do. He substitutes true Christianity with religious activities.

The Word of God is our spiritual food. We need to "feed" on it, so we can grow, and be established. We read the Word of God to get to know the Author--God. The Bible is our guideline for life. It is written for our benefit.

One thing we had to learn was to rely on the Holy Spirit for our understanding of God's Word, realizing that God is spirit and His Word has to be discerned spiritually. All the confusion and errors among Christians are the results of  interpretations of the Word of God apart from the Holy Spirit. Yes, we could be true believers and still read the Bible without relying on the Holy Spirit. That is why we have so many denominations. Among believers who gained knowledge of the Word of God through the teaching of the Holy Spirit is unity of belief. There is only one truth. Truth is what we should be seeking all the time, and Jesus said that He is the Truth.

We have to learn to meditate (think everything through with the guidance of the Holy Spirit) on the Word of God. We have to keep in mind God's words through His prophet Isaiah:

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Neither are your ways My ways," declares the Lord.

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts."

                                                 (Isaiah 55:8,9)

Beloved, when we received Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we received eternal life. This life is indestructible and imperishable. It is guaranteed by God Himself. We have to cement this truth in our mind, and step out in faith. In other words, we have to believe it, and act upon it. God declared it, and that should settle the matter. New believers who are not yet established in the Word of God, may doubt their salvation sometimes, especially when they do something wrong. Also in the Scriptures we may come across verses which sound like we could lose our salvation. Sadly, these verses are often misunderstood and/or taken out of context.

The vastly erroneous teachings on this subject don't help to clarify this most important truth either. Brothers and sisters, just keep in mind that God Himself abides in you, and He will lead you to all truth. Go to Him. Anybody teaching that genuine believers can lose their salvation doesn't understand salvation and eternal life. In order to understand these truths we must understand the Cross and the Resurrection.

One of the greatest privileges we, the children of God, have is prayer. Beloved, just think about this truth. We have a direct line to God. Thank you Jesus!

Pray in the Name of Jesus

We acknowledge  it is only because of our faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross and His resurrection that we can approach our heavenly Father with boldness and confidence. God made peace with us when He reconciled the whole world to Himself through the blood of Jesus. We made peace with God when we believed in Him and received the resurrected life of His Son and in Him the forgiveness of our sins.

Prayer is not a formula to be followed. According to the Scripture we don't even know how to pray as we should pray and we need the Holy Spirit to intercede for us. When we pray, we speak to our heavenly Father, who loves us and cares for us. There may be a time when our heart is so heavy that our prayer is more like a groaning, but that's OK. God knows everything already, and He knows what is on our heart. It is Jesus who produces our desire to pray. Pray without ceasing!

We all want our prayers to be effective. Right? The important truth to realize is that if we want our prayers to be effective, they have to be inspired by God. We are not originators, but responders. God is the originator. God initiates.

Brothers and sisters, surrender to God. Love Him. He is your life! Begin to see life from His perspective. And always keep in mind that God is able to do much more than we can ever think of!

Complete Forgiveness Is Essential for Reconciliation

Forgiveness is in Jesus Christ. That is why we read in Romans 5:10 that we shall be saved by His life. When we, by faith, receive Jesus into our heart, we receive His resurrected life and in Him--Jesus--we have the forgiveness of sins. The New Testament believer doesn't get forgiven; he is forgiven!

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the

forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches

                                               of His grace,

                          which He lavished upon us.

                                                                                      (Ephesians 1:7, 8)

For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and

transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

                                                                           (Colossians 1:13, 14)

Those who die without Jesus--those who do not believe that Jesus is who He claims to be will die in their sins (John 8:24), because the forgiveness of sins does not apply to them. As a result, they will stand before God on the Judgment Day not in the righteousness of Jesus, as the believers, but in their own righteousness, and their own righteousness will not be sufficient, since according to God:

There is none righteous, not even one.

                                                                (Romans 3:10)

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

                                                                                      (Romans 3:23)

Our own righteousness (self-righteousness) will never gain us an entrance into God's kingdom. Eternal separation from God is in store for those who reject the righteousness of Jesus. The remedy for unbelievers is to repent of their sin of unbelief in Jesus, and believe in Him with all their heart, mind, and soul, and ask Jesus to give them His life and receive Him as their Lord and Savior.

We, the believers, are the ministers of reconciliation, the ambassadors of Christ. We are God's vessels, and He entreats all people through us to be reconciled to Him. Jesus has done it all. Our response is to believe it and act upon it in faith.

If not, we implore you to ask Jesus into your heart and to become your Lord and Savior now.
